That Lets get real here Mama, ladies.... The struggle bus happens to everyone, in every part of your life in different seasons. But we hardly talk about it openly. Who wants to admit it. But we need to. For support, for community, for creating a new normalcy. I have gone through my own fair share of dark times too. In my career, in parenting, in marriage, in my health, in relationships with friends, family and even myself. Its part of life, the ups and downs, so know its OK. The reason for this post is to bring some normalcy to the topic of struggle, but I'm trying to zero in on your health journey, but really it's relevant to many parts of your life. I want to give you some tips and words to use in those hard times.
Say you've been at this health journey for a while, or maybe it's new. You could be in a funk, not feeling it, feeling lost, not seeing the results you want, you don't feel good, and the comparison game is strong. Here is what I need you to do and think... OWNERSHIP. Own where you are right now and where your going. That means commit to yourself, don't care about what others say, think or might think. Don't feel pressured to eat and drink what everyone is, at the party, at the bar, in life. Give new things & practices TIME. Nothing is overnight that is sustainable and healthy. So many times I have ladies that deal with shock to their bodies with a new health habit in the form of bloat, weight gain, detox symptoms, sore bodies, scales not moving, acne, etc. BUT our body has to be given time to heal after YEARS of bad health habits. New habits take time physically, emotionally and mentally. So trust in the process. Be ok with TRYING NEW THINGS. If something isn't working. or if it's time to level up, try something new. Always be available for learning, growing and changing from what you know now. Listen to podcasts, connect with others, read. You never know what you don't know. BE OK with not being OK. BE OK with being UNCOMFORTABLE. Get uncomfortable. Feel ALL the emotions with what your struggling with. Retreat back to a quiet space of life. A place you can grow, feel and be true. Focus on simple priorities. Even when you feel LOST. Stay this course. Do personal development. And you will find CLARITY AGAIN. Why retreat back? Why feel the hard emotions? You need to come to a quiet time in life to feel the emotions, to understand them, to grow and move past them. You need to quiet life down by focusing on simple priorities so that you can hear your gut instincts, hear the universe, hear your mind. So new things can show up and present themselves. You need to do personal development, pick up a book or listen to the podcast so you can grow, learn and try new things. If you stay this course in a positive spiritual way, you will climb the dark mountain of struggle and find CLARITY again. You will go from foggy and lost to energized and inspired again. Things will start showing up in the best ways if you make the space for them.
